About TheBulkLab

Technical clarity. Without overclaiming.

TheBulkLab is a slurry and powder process engineering practice: defining the problem, reading the rheology, interpreting the evidence and prioritising the next test.

Professional focus

Connect the formulation to the process — and the process to the measurement.

The work centres on dispersion, flow behaviour and forming: how a slurry or paste moves through coating, casting, extrusion or granulation, and why results vary between batches and lines.

Viscosity prediction from formulation data is compared with measurement, so that the difference between the two points to where to look first — across battery electrodes, ceramics and coatings, and MOF and other porous materials.

Qualifications

Twenty years in ceramic and chemical materials processing.

  • Professional Engineer (Ceramics), Korea
  • IntPE (Chemical Engineering)
  • Graduate background in computational chemistry
  • Slurry viscosity prediction method (patent pending)

These credentials do not imply licensure or signing authority in every jurisdiction.

How that informs the work

Four habits in every review.

  1. 01Define measurable outcomes before recommending changes.
  2. 02Keep observations, assumptions and hypotheses distinct.
  3. 03State the limits of the available evidence.
  4. 04Recommend validation before production implementation.

Working principles

01 / FOCUS

One scoped question

Start with the decision that matters. Agree the review boundaries and avoid expanding the project without discussion.

02 / CONFIDENTIALITY

Share only what is needed

Begin with non-confidential information. Agree on data handling before exchanging sensitive material, and share only what you are authorised to disclose.

03 / ACCOUNTABILITY

No unsupported promises

Recommendations depend on evidence and must be validated in the real application. Engineering and safety decisions stay with the customer.
